Risk Technology

Firm Risk Management (FRM) Technology department is responsible for developing and overseeing the enterprise strategy and bespoke technology solutions to comply with international regulatory frameworks for calculating regulatory capital levels, enforcing risk governance, and providing comprehensive reporting and disclosure. The department is executing an ongoing program of work to extend the capabilities of the Firm Risk platform to meet both internal and external requirements. The clients include Risk Managers and Middle Office stake holders responsible for managing the Firm's Market, Credit, Operational and Liquidity risk.





Job Profile

The candidate must have minimum 5 years hands-on IT experience, preferably in the financial services industry working on all aspects of SDLC with focus on data processing in Python/Database Unix scripting, applying complex business rules, performing transformation, aggregation and designing data persistence model for Transactional Data Processing (OLTP) as well as Data Warehouse. Must have strong ability to work on multiple IT projects simultaneously, working with the stake holders, clients and other system owners to drive the projects to successful completion.

Responsibilities will include technical analysis, design, development and perform enhancements. The candidate will participate in following activities:
  • Hands-on development experience of writing efficient SQL queries and stored procs, understanding of table partitions for data distribution, parallel loads and extracts working on a relational database (Db2, Greenplum or other technologies)

  • Build batch vs. event driven data processing. Design for high level of concurrency to ensure data integrity without compromising performance

  • Hands-on development experience building distributed data processing using Python, data frames, APIs etc. Understand parallel data processing concepts to build scalable processes.

  • Data structures and algorithms with Python, Pandas library, Numpy basics

  • Working in an agile squad as a contributor, working with other developers towards a common goal

  • Coming up with process design proposals for improving efficiency and ease of maintenance and developing software to turn proposals into implementations

  • Participate in DevOps, can demonstrate achievements to automate testing and code migration











  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Skill Set

  • 5 years of hands-on of Database development plus Python/Unix Scripting

  • Good SQL knowledge and one of the RDBMS i.e. DB2/SQL-Server/Teradata

  • Ability to deliver multiple simultaneous projects under pressure of regulatory driven deadlines

  • Hands-on experience with Greenplum / DB2 / Teradata / Oracle / other relational databases

  • Excellent analytical ability

  • Effective communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
